| | Bobcat Day!!!Bobcat Day is our premier open house event held four times in a academic year. Both freshman and transfer students interested in becoming Bobcats can get a comprehensive look at the academics, facilities and culture of Texas State . Each Bobcat Day starts very early. There is a lot of work to be done to prepare for the busy day ahead. Some Ambassadors stuff bags with maps, tips, and even a t-shirt for the prospective students. Other Ambassadors help to set up the University Exchange, which is a huge showcase for all of the academic majors available here at Texas State . The Ambassadors then go their separate ways. Some get ready to greet all of the interested students and their families, some get ready to help with check-in, and some get ready to be morning escorts. The rest of the day goes smoothly with campus tours, answering countless questions, Student Panel, and much more. The Ambassadors did a wonderful job and have received a great deal of positive feedback from prospective students. They used their knowledge and their experience as a Texas State student to reach out and show everything this great university has to offer! |

The Ambassadors work closely with the Admissions Staff, The Alumni Association, The Parent's Association, and the Texas State Visitors Center providing trained tour guides for all special events, daily campus tours, and VIP tours.

Is the largest volunteer service event held in this area. Over 3000 Bobcats, including students, staff, and faculty participate in community projects all over San Marcos.

This year, at Relay for Life, we were able to fundraise over $1,000 for cancer research. We got to Bobcat Stadium around 6pm to set up our very spirited tent and kickoff started at 7pm. The first round relay was, appropriately, survivors of cancer and as they walked around we all cheered them on. Then we all joined in on the all-night relay making sure that there was always someone on the track all night. It was a long 12 hours during which our feet started to hurt and we all huddle together as the cold-front got stronger. But we knew that it was all to represent the struggles that the patients went through during their fight against cancer and it could be worse. So, we pressed on. They had all sorts of fun activities and games to keep us up all night and we even won a few! All around it was a great experience that brought us all closer together as we helped fight cancer!
The Association for Student Advancement Program plays host to nearly 35 schools in this region of the United States alone. They provide leadership training, orientations on community involvement, and a chance for the Texas State Ambassadors to meet the ambassador representatives from other Universities. We attend both national and district conferences.
